The power of resilience

I can't discuss how to build the courage and confidence to progress and move forward without talking about resilience.
As mentioned in this article by the American Psychological Association, resilience is the ability to adjust and adapt to the challenges and difficulties that occur in our lives.
Our capacity to be resilient effects not only how we experience these challenges but also what impact these challenges will have in our lives and in our ability or inability to move forward.
According to research, resilience is not something that you either simply have or do not have, but something that can be learned and developed. This is good news!
Here are some ideas to help develop resilience :
- Finding what motivates you to pursue your goals
- Your mindset, believing in yourself and that you are capable of getting through this
- Developing a strong social network for support
- Problem solving skills to learn from your experience
- Adopting healthy coping strategies that help you get healthier and stronger
- Managing stress levels to stay calm and focused during challenging situations
